Fishery Information

Abbook Pond used to be a clay pit and we love clay pits here at Fishery Guide. It is 3 acres in size and the depths range from 2ft to 15ft out in the middle. Its set in lovely surroundings which makes it a haven for wildlife. Don’t be surprised to see kingfishers here, birds of prey and maybe even the odd deer.

This lake is available to members but also open to day ticket anglers.

There are plenty of features in the lake such as reeds, silt areas, lily pads and plateaus.

The lake has a bridge that divides this water into 2 main areas. One side of the lake is a lot shallower with the main depth being 3ft. This makes it a great area in the summer months for the big carp.

This lake is very well looked after and bailiffs visit on a regular basis. A lot of work has been completed over the years with new swims made, secure access and regular stocking.

There is something in this lake for everyone. If you are a specimen angler then there’s plenty of big carp to 26lb to be caught here. It’s estimated there are roughly 100 big carp in here now.

Night fishing is available with a permit that can be obtained through the club.
