Fishery Information

Blagdon Farm has a 1.5-acre fishing lake that’s available for residents and non-residents on a day ticket basis.

It is well stocked with lots of carp, including some lovely ghost and grass carp which you don’t find at a lot of venues. If the carp are not your thing then there’s plenty of silverfish including Orfe, which again are a lovely species to catch. There’s also some nice Tench.

Blagdon Farm is not a traditional commercial fishery, and therefore is not overfished.

Even though the lake is only 1.5 acres in size it’s actually really deep with some spots going down to 30ft in depth. However, the average depth is about 5ft.

What size do the fish go to?

Grass carp have been recorded up to 16lb with other carp to 14lb. There are definitely bigger fish to be had.

What tactics work well?

Its recommended to fish on the ledges around the edges, especially in the summer months.

What facilities are on-site?

As mentioned, Blagdon Farm isn’t just a fishery, but it’s a big campsite with all the facilities you could wish for.

There are toilets, a cafe, and a shop (that sells some bait). They really have everything.

There are no disabled facilities on site. Blagdon farm does warn people with wheelchairs that access to the lakes might be difficult if it rains due to the paths becoming muddy.

Is parking available?

Yes, plenty of parking.
