Crai Reservoir, also known as Cray, is a 100-acre wild brown trout fishery located just off the A4067, south of Sennybridge. The reservoir is on the Cnewer Estate and is reserved for fly fishing only.

Fishing Season and Methods

Fishing at Crai Reservoir is open from April 1st to September 30th. The reservoir is home to many wild brown trout averaging around 12 oz, with plenty of larger fish weighing over a pound. The trout respond well to dry flies and traditional wet flies, and the reservoir fishes well on summer evenings.

Tickets and Pricing

Day tickets for Crai Reservoir are available at the nearby Cnewer estate farm. The current cost is £12, and payment can be made via an honesty box in the farmyard.

Access and Accommodation

Be prepared for a fair amount of walking over rough and boggy ground to access the best fishing areas. Holiday accommodation is available on-site and offers free fishing as part of the package, making it an excellent choice for a family holiday combined with fly fishing.
