Fishery Information

Hoyle Mill Dam is managed by Hoyle Mill Angling Club, and you must be a member of the angling club to fish this impressive dam. This is a club water that not many anglers fish, but it is well worth a visit or two. There are some fantastic fish in this water. Granted, it is one of the more challenging waters that the club owns, but that makes it so rewarding when you pull a fantastic fish out of it. The best part about Hoyle Mill Dam is that the fishing is nice and varied. If you want to target any fish species, chances are, there is a good example of it in this lake.

What size do the fish go to?

The biggest carp in Hoyle Mill Dam are 25lbs, but they are likely bigger than this now. There are also plenty of good bream to catch, and some massive roach too. The perch are nice and large here as well. There are plenty of tench in this lake too, we aren’t sure how big they go, though.

What tactics work well?

There are two islands at Hoyle Mill Dam, which are well worth targeting if your peg allows. There are also trenches in this lake that are only about 6ft below the surface. These are a must to target if you are trying to catch the big carp.

What facilities are on site?

No facilities, but there is a tackle shop just down the road and a pub and curry house next door too.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
