Fishery Information

Lingmere is a small, well-managed fishery that features two lakes-The Pleasure Lake, and The Match Lake, open to anglers of all skill levels.

With depths reaching up to six feet, the Pleasure Lake provides anglers of all skill levels with excellent opportunities for catching fish. The lake is stocked with carp, tench, golden tench, ghost carp, perch, roach, rudd, bream, chub, barbel, crucian carp, hybrids, orfe, ide, and F1’s. You have the option to fish close to the margins, or target the overhanging trees on the island, which provide a refuge for the more elusive “doubles” and “twenties.” Good pleasure bags can be caught from all pegs.

The Match Lake has a small island in the middle that provides a sanctuary for the fish. It has 32 pegs available, all of which are the same depth, and evenly spaced apart. The lake is home to a sizable population of F1s in addition to a good head of hard-fighting carp, barbel, tench, crucian carp, bream, chub, silverfish, and ide. This lake has the potential to produce match weights that will bust the nets.

The fishery is open from April through to September from  8am until 6.30pm

What size do the fish go to?

Carp can go up to 26lbs, while Tench can go up to 10lbs.

What tactics work well?

Fish can be caught using any technique or bait, but during the summer months, when carp are actively surface feeding, the sport of fishing is elevated to an entirely new level of excitement. Only barbless hooks should be used, and each person should only have access to two rods at a time. There is a requirement for landing nets.
