Fishery Information

Controlled by the Bradford No. 1 Angling Association, Raskelf Lake is a 4.5-acre private, members only fishery situated near picturesque Boroughbridge between the peaceful villages of Helperby/Bafferton and Raskelf. Located on the Easingwold Road next to the East Coast railway line, this water is one of the association’s flagship waters.

Popular with club members, Raskelf Lake is densely stocked with specimen carp to over 20 lbs, F1 carp, tench to 7 lbs, ide, bream to 5 lbs, crucian carp, roach, chub, eel and barbel. This beautiful medium-sized lake has 50 permanent platforms and its depth varies between 2 and 10 feet. Each peg has features to fish to including weed beds and overhanging trees.

Please note that due to power lines at the railway end of the lake, only rods up to a length of 4 metres are allowed at this end.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp go to over 20 lbs, tench to 7 lbs and bream to 5 lbs.
