Fishery Information

Located near Newark, Nottinghamshire, The River Trent, Farndon offers excellent sport to both novices and more seasoned anglers. The water spans approximately ¾ of a mile and hosts numerous fishing features.

The upstream end of the stretch is ideal stick float water. Downstream is slower moving, meaning it is good for the waggler or feeder. Night fishing is not permitted at this location and the season operates from 15th March to 15th June inclusive.

The water is surrounding by mature woodlands, which provide shelter as well as being home to several wildlife species. Moreover, the waters are home to a healthy quantity of Bream, Roach, Chub, Perch, Barbel and Carp.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp are often caught at the bottom end of the reiver and reach as high as 18lbs. Additionally, Barbel are landed with frequency between 7 and 10lbs. Moreover, Tench, Bream, Perch and Chub tend to weigh between 2 and 7lbs.

What tactics work well?

Despite being shallow in some areas, the venue is suitable for most river tactics. For catching Chubb, it is beneficial to pay attention to areas with overhanging trees.
