Fishery Information

Situated close to Maidenhead, Berkshire, Sheephouse Trout Fishery is a phenomenal facility that offers great sport for the keen trout angler. The site has always been notorious for Trout fishing but is now known more as a general coarse fishery.

There are numerous pegs available, all of which host a variety of fishing features such as overhanging trees, reeds and pools. Furthermore, several of the pegs are accessible to the disabled and elderly angler.

The water is home to a variety of fish species such as Carp, Tench, Pike, bream and Trout. Day tickets start from £15 (2 fish) and go up to £45 (5 fish).

What size do the fish go to?

Bream and Tench tend to way between 3-7lbs. Carp are frequently caught in double figures, with the larger fish reaching up to 20lbs. Trout are commonly landed at around 5lbs, with the record for Rainbow Trout currently standing at 13 lbs.

What tactics work well?

Standard still water tactics tend to be effective. Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms works extremely well when seeking Carp. Anglers may also consider utilising pellets and boilies during the warmer months.
