Spring End Farm Fishery is a really fun fishing venue just outside Leeds. There is one well-established lake on this site and a newer pond that is quickly becoming a very good lake indeed. The older lake is the smallest, but there are hundreds of fish to catch. The larger lake also has hundreds of fish to catch, and the fishing is nice and varied in both lakes. Spring End Farm Fishery operates on a day ticket only basis, so anyone can fish this venue, and it is well worth a visit.
What size do the fish go to?
There are carp to 24lbs at Spring End Farm Fishery. There are also chub to 7lbs, tench to about 5lbs and roach, rudd and crucian carp too. The carp may not sound massive, but there are hundreds in both lakes ranging from a pound right up into the 20s.
What tactics work well?
Pellets are most anglers go-to baits on this venue because they work fantastically well for the carp. Bait two swims, one in the middle and one in the margins. Start on the middle swim with a method feeder full of pellets and one on the hook. When the action dies down, move to your margin swim. Doing this at Spring End Farm Fishery has seen anglers catch over 30 carp in a single session.
