Fishery Information

Situating in Hastings, East Sussex, Buckshole Reservoir offers an excellent day’s sport to both the novice and more seasoned angler. The venue is set in country park surroundings and the lake spans approximately 8 acres. As well as providing a natural habitat for wildlife, the mature trees surrounding the perimeter make excellent fishing features.

The water is considered a challenge for anglers, with larger Carp being rather elusive at times. However, when they do present themselves, anglers find are satisfied as they tend to be on the larger side. Furthermore, the water is also home to some Bream, Tench, Perch and Pike.

The location is open to day ticket anglers, with the waters being overseen by Hastings, Bexhill and district angling association.

What size do the fish go to?

Bream, Tench and Perch tend to weigh between 2-7lbs. Carp and Pike can be elusive at times but can come in well into double figures. For example, the current course record for Carp stands at 36lbs.

What tactics work well?

Anglers might wish to consider using a feeder with sweetcorn in order to entice the larger Carp. It can also be beneficial to use pellets and boilies during the warmer months.

What facilities are on site?

There is a café on location which sells a variety of snacks, as well as hot and cold beverages. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are also open to guests.
