Fishery Information

The Allandale Tarn, located at West Calder in West Lothian, was historically a holding pool used to refill passing steam locomotives, making it over a century old.

Fly fishing and bait fishing are available in the spring-fed lakes of Allandale Tarns, famous for their exceptional water quality. Each day, quality Rainbow, Tiger, Blue, and Brown trout and Artic Char are put into the lakes. You will not have trouble getting to the fishing from any place in Central Scotland.

What size do the fish go to?

Fish sizes range from 1.8lb to 18lb.

Fly and bait fishing

What facilities are on site?

Well stocked tackle shop

Separate male and female toilet facilities. Ramp access available for the disabled

General snacks, hot and cold drinks

Coaching available

Large fly selections mostly tied on site and fly tying material.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available for 45 cars.
