Angel of the North Fishing Lakes Information

Situated to the south of Gateshead and just off the A1 the Angel of the North fishing venue comprises two lakes. Both have been lovingly landscaped, both on the bank and under the water. If you choose your peg carefully you might actually be able to get a great view of the Angel of the North as you fish! The venue is 8 acres in total offering plenty of scope for mixed coarse fishing.

Bowes lake is around 3 acres and has around 40 bankside pegs. This lake is dedicated to carp fishing and there are 4 species of carp stocked in the water, this includes ghost carp, mirror carp, common carp, and leather carp! This lake is quite shallow, with the average depth being around 7ft.

To the east you’ll find Lookout Lake, this houses mixed coarse species including Rudd, Tench, Bream, Roach, and large Tench. There is also Crucian Carp to be had.

The fishery is very keen to look after their water, for that reason certain baits are forbidden. Novice anglers are asked to book in for a coaching session in order to ensure that the fish are kept in good shape and are fighting fit.
