Back Drain Southport is a stretch of shallow water located in Southport and runs close to the main River Crossens. The stretch of water is accessible with a day ticket and features fishing platforms. Ten-pound tench, huge bream, and pike weigh well into the double figures.

Southport & District Angling Association is in charge of Back Drain, and you must purchase day tickets from the usual outlets before fishing. There is no provision for the sale of tickets within the banks. Day ticket holders are only allowed to use the water on either side of Water Lane, the A565, between the bend next to the Pumping Station and the former Railway Bridge.         

What size do the fish go to?

Tench can go to 10lb, pike int double figures and there is huge bream too.
