Presented by the Withnell Angling Club, Farington Lodges on Lodge Lane in Leyland is a quiet and developing spot to fish.
These waters have been fished by very few recently, according to the Club, and a refurbishment effort has been in place to develop a top-tier match and carp lake. Organization continues on building a nature trail for families, too.
The waters at Farington Lodges have been recently stocked with F1s, tench, crucians, and carp. Rudd, bream, roach, perch, pike, and other coarse fishing favourites have also turned up.
But the development remains the story at Farington, at least for now. With a mission to improve the facility and a goal of turning up some top-class fishing before long, this should be a very exciting spot for years and years to come.
The Withnell Angling Club believes that “good waters are hard to find and easy to lose,” which speaks to their commitment to quality. It stands to reason that they take their task very seriously and that anglers should likewise take the privilege of fishing Farington very seriously.
What size do the fish go to?
200 F1s were part of the recent restocking effort, while smaller carb in the neighbourhood of two pounds have also been added to the waters.
What tactics work well?
Discarded hooks, lines and equipment must be taken away from the site upon leaving.
Fish only from the numbered platforms and pegs.
Do not enter the nature reserve. Definitely do not fish from the nature reserve.
Do not fish past the sign on the first lake.
Night fishing is not permitted.
What facilities are on site?
Facilities may be added to Farington Lodges eventually, but at this point information is hard to come by.

There is parking near Farington.
