Fishery Information

Located in Belmont, Lancashire, Belmont fishery offers a tranquil setting for both the novice and more seasoned angler.

The fishery comprises of two lakes in total. The first lake, Mallard Lodge, is around 2.5 acres in size, and has an average depth of 5ft. The waters afford a healthy selection of coarse fish, including Roach, Rudd, Perch, Bream, Tench plus Common and Mirror Carp. Mallard Lodge is extremely popular with the local angling community and is beginning to make a name for itself due to the variety of coarse fish.

Swan Lodge is around 1.5 acres in size and is known as the more specialist carp lake. The lake has an average depth of 6ft, with a total of 5 bivvy pegs to choose from, including one double.

What size do the fish go to?

The average size of Carp ranges between 15lbs and 25lbs, with the occasional 35 lbs being reported. Nets of Bream and Tench are commonly taken totalling over 100lbs.

What tactics work well?

Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms is especially helpful when seeking out larger Bream and Carp. Pellets and boilies have also proven to be beneficial during the warmer months.
