Fishery Information

Situated in the stunning Shropshire countryside, Blackthorn Fishery offers fantastic sport to the keen Carp angler. The venue comprises of a 3.5- acre spring-fed lake which boasts numerous fishing features. Mature trees and bushes surround the permitter, giving the angler privacy and shelter from the elements.

Furthermore, the surrounding woodlands and fields are a hotbed for wildlife species. The site caters specifically for three log cabins, with spacious pegs available on their doorstep. However, there are a number of pegs which cater for angling guests too. Crucially, a few of the pegs are fully accessible for disabled and elderly anglers. The water is well stocked with Carp as well as some Bream, Roach and Rudd.

What size do the fish go to?

Bream Roach and Rudd typically weigh between 2 and 7lbs. Carp are landed with frequency in double figures, with larger specimen exceeding 15lbs.

What tactics work well?

Standard still water tactics usually work well. Also, worms, sweetcorn and prawns are all popular choices of bait. Additionally, utilising pellets during the warmer months helps to entice the larger Carp.

What facilities are on site?

Accommodation is available in the form of luxury lodges. Moreover, clean and accessible toilet and shower facilities are open to guests.
