Fishery Information

Located in Telford, Ellerdine Lakes offers an excellent spot for the keen Trout Angler. The waters boast numerous fishing features, as well as a healthy stock of Trout species.

Reeds and overhanging trees give a tranquil feel to the surroundings. Furthermore, mature trees around the permitter offer shelter as well as providing a home for numerous birdlife species.

There are 4 lakes in total, all of which are spread out across approximately 4 acres. Interestingly, one of the fly-fishing lakes is for juniors only, so that they can learn and practice the sport.

The waters are healthily stocked with various Trout species, which have a reputation for putting up a good fight.

What size do the fish go to?

The average size of fish ranges between 4 and 6lbs. However, larger specimen can exceed 8lbs and even reach double figures on occasion.

What tactics work well?

The water is not especially deep, so floating lines are perfectly acceptable. Also, it is vital to have a decent landing net. Additionally, buzzers, yellow dancers and orange blobs are all popular choices of flies.

What facilities are on site?

There is a café on site which prepares fresh food as well as selling a range of refreshments. Furthermore, clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to guests.
