Fishery Information

With plenty of water situated on an 82-acre estate, Broadlands Lake is a truly special location.

The main lake is 26 acres fed from the River Test.

The lower lake is a 2.5 acre fishery set alongside the river. This spot holds 31 pegs and is just the spot for pleasure anglers. Carp, roach, and eels populate these waters.

Match Lake is a two-acre site with openings for day ticket fishing, club play, and competitions. There are 42 pegs here, with preference to pole anglers. Carp, bream, tench, roach, and perch teem Match Lake and provide exciting challenges for guests.

Fishing also takes place in the river. There two rivers, one of which is a tributary of the River Test. This is cited as one of the best chalk streams in the country and features a wide variety of fishing excellence. Species include trout, salmon, roach, chub, grayling, dace, pike, and more.

The River Blackwater is half a mile of river, all of which is owned by Broadlands Lake.

What size do the fish go to?

Some four thousand double-digit carp have been pulled out of the main lake at Broadlands Lake. More than 500 of these were over 20 pounds.

The lower lake features carp up to 27 pounds, roach up to two pounds, and eel up to four pounds.

Chub up to eight pounds can be found in the River Test tributary, while pike and carp up to 20 pounds have also appeared in these waters.

What tactics work well?

Tactics will vary depending on the water, but fishing at the point where the islands meet is the best locale for successful fishing River Blackwater.

What facilities are on site?

Broadlands Lake features a tackle shop on site, plus a clubhouse for food, drinks, and good times. The clubhouse features a full menu, along with free Wi-Fi and a Sky TV for catching all the off-water action. Try the ribs.
