Fishery Information

Once known as the Mopley Farm Fishery until it transformed into a coarse fishery in 1990, the Cadland Fishery has gone through a number of changes. It’s now overseen solely by the Manor of Cadland, which took over the site in the spring of 2010.

Mopley Pond is lovely three-acre lake divided by three islands. Anglers can fish from one of those islands. Channels run behind them, leading to a number of features and opportunities. Lilies, reed beds, and gravel shelves range throughout the lakes.

There is a spot called Dark Lane Ponds, a mature former gravel pit that is available for those who’ve purchased a season ticket at Cadland Fishery.

The Manor of Cadland also manages Bilcombes Pond, a syndicate-only fishery.

Night fishing is permitted for members only.

What size do the fish go to?

These waters at Mopley Pond are teeming with carp up to 27 pounds, perch up to four pounds, and tench up to six pounds.

Dark Lane Ponds feature carp up to 25 pounds, along with bream up to five pounds and roach up to three pounds. Crucian, tench, and perch also call the Dark Lane Ponds home.

What tactics work well?

The shallow channels around the back of Mopley Pond’s islands make for some great stalking areas, while fruit flavoured boilies are popular baits. It should be noted these must be of the frozen variety, as live boilies are not allowed on the premises.

Anglers must use only barbless hooks or micro-hooks. Keepnets are not allowed. Unhooking mats and landing nets must be used.

What facilities are on site?

There are toilets on location and some takeaway food locations nearby that will deliver to Cadland Fishery.

Is parking available?

There is ample parking on site, including a lot for disabled anglers.
