Fishery Information

Tiptree, a village near the Essex region, is the one hosting this four-acre fishery. It is ideal for coarse fishing and features as many as 50 different pegs. The fishing area itself is lined with reeds and rushes. These are around 7ft, whereas the holes are 20ft.

Tickets are found at the bailiff on the bank and can be purchased as early as 7am. Night fishing is not allowed. Barbed hooks and keepnets are banned as well. Keep in mind that nut hookbaits and loose feed are banned as well.

Overall, the fishery comes with a wide range of species, which makes it suitable for all types of anglers and common types/techniques of fishing. For those fishing for pleasure, the good news is that catches around here reportedly go well over the 100lbs mark.

Last but not least, the area is surrounded by greenery and woodland, and is rather far from noisy civilization. In short, the fishery provides for a quiet catch.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp weighs as much as 20lbs.

Bream of up to 10lbs.

Tench of 9lbs.

Rudd and Roach of up to 2lbs.

Pike as much as 22lbs.

What tactics work well?

Anglers can bring a maximum of two rods.

For carp and pike, sweetcorn and meat baits are recommended, as well as paste, bread, and pellets.

Common and popular methods are surface baits and margin fishing.

For pole fishing, a no. 12 elastic and 14-10 barbless hooks are recommended.

What facilities are on site?

No facilities on site.

Is parking available?

One small parking lot at one end of the lake.
