Fishery Information

Tranquility is key at Chad Lakes, a well-run spot in the Cotswolds.

There are two pools at this terrific facility, including the popular day fishery known as Chad Pool and the more exclusive Home Pool. The latter is available for bookings on a session basis only.

The Chad Pool is great for those just starting out or parents who have taken leave of their senses and want to try fishing with the kids. It features plenty of common and mirror carp ranging up to the mid-20s. Previously a mixed fishery, Chad Pool is now regularly netted to curb the enthusiasm of roach, tench, and bream. There are a few perch remaining, however.

The Home Pool is defined by a number of wondrous features, like islands, silt pockets, weed beds, and changes in depth. Recommended for more experienced anglers, the fishing at Home Pool can present an exceptional but rewarding challenge. Swims are flat-grassed and spacious.

What size do the fish go to?

Fish seem to be coming in at great sizes at Chad Lakes, but there’s no specific information available at this time.

What tactics work well?

Versatility is key, especially when it comes to adapting to the challenges of Home Pool.

The exclusive spot allows a maximum of three rods at a time, with fishing only to take place from designated swims on the bank or causeway. Anglers may not fish from Brook Bank, as Home Bank is considered out of bounds.

Leadcore, leaders, and braided line are prohibited.

Unhooking mats, weigh slings, sacks, and landing nets are supplied. Anglers should not bring their own.

Fishing at Chad pool carries a two rod minimum, with fishing only to take place from the numbered swims. Unhooking mats and landing nets must be large. Fixed leads are not permitted, along with keepnets and sacks.

Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

What facilities are on site?

There is a shed with a seating area for users of Home Pool. This includes a refrigerator and freezer, along with basic power facilities. A toilet is on the property.

Is parking available?

Ample parking is available at Chad Lakes.
