Fishery Information

Anglers can find the Charford Farm Fishery on the Hampshire Avon, just on the fringes of the New Forest National Park. The spot is roughly 10 miles south of Salisbury.

Charford features four miles of fishable bank, with some side streams and weir pools for both game and coarse fishing.

Fishing at this location is private, with a membership required.

Salmon was the catch of the day for a long time at Charford Farm Fishery, but changes have been implemented and this spot is now a paradise for coarse fishing. The spot holds chub and barbel, the main targets for serious anglers.

Dace show up in good numbers in the summer and autumn months, while a complement of roach, carp, perch, bream, and pike hit up the waters alongside trout and salmon.

What size do the fish go to?

The chub and barbel at Charford Farm Fishery are specimen fish, which means they’ll put up a fight and tip the scales. Many members have cited personal best fish in these waters, too, so the challenge is real and yields to life-altering catches. Tight lines, anglers.

What tactics work well?

Fishing at Charford Farm Fishery is a matter of following basic angler etiquette and keeping an eye on the prize. This isn’t a heavy-handed spot by any means, but the members take angling seriously.

What facilities are on site?

There is a cabin that sometimes includes tea, biscuits, coffee, and other refreshments – as long as the membership has remembered to bring it.

Is parking available?

There is parking on location, although some lots can get muddy in poor weather.
