Situated in Bedford, Dovecoat Lake is a substantial fishery that offers excellent fishing to the keen Carp angler. At over 60 acres and with over 100 pegs, the water offers a formidable sporting venue. Furthermore, many of the pegs are completely accessible to the elderly and disabled angler.

Additionally, there are numerous fishing features, such as small Islands and overhanging trees. Thus, Dovecoat Lake gives a sense of serenity and offers a fantastic getaway. Importantly, fishing is only open to syndicate members, with annual fees costing £600. Moreover, the waters are healthily stocked with Bream, Tench, Perch, Roach and Carp.

What size do the fish go to?

Bream, Tench, Roach and Perch most commonly weigh between 3 and 8lbs. Furthermore, Carp tend to come in at double figures, with the largest fish exceeding 25lbs.

What tactics work well?

Standard still water tactics tend to be sufficient. However, utilising pellets and boilies during the warmer months is beneficial. Additionally, cured meat, worms and sweetcorn are all popular choices of bait.
