Fishery Information

Bridgwater Angling Association and a few diehard fans of this four lake venue have taken it upon themselves to drag this venue kicking and screaming into the 21st century over the last few years. This used to be one of the gems of the BAA for years. Yet, over the years, the lake slowly became the haunt of anglers less concerned with fishing and more concerned with the contents of their cooler bags.

Thankfully, the BAA has breathed new life into this lake, and it is now one of the shining examples of all the waters they managed. They have added much better security to the lake and have improved a few of the best fishing spots on the lake too.

What size do the fish go to?

Before all the work carried out by the BAA, the carp in these lakes were in the high 20s, and there was plenty to go around. However, as no one has fished these lakes for a few years, there is a very good chance the heavy hitters are now even heavier. No one really knows for sure.

There is also a good head of tench, bream, roach, rudd and perch, which can go to impressive numbers too.

What tactics work well?

Well, even the locals and the anglers who have put in the hard work bringing this venue back to former glory aren’t too sure at the moment. Certainly, fishing to the islands and the reed beds is a solid choice, though.

What facilities are on site?

A security fence around the venue, but the BAA may add more facilities soon.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available on Dunwear Lane.
