Fishery Information

Durleigh Reservoir is an 80-acre reservoir set into beautiful surroundings in Somerset. It is a day ticket only venue that is mainly fished by carp anglers that hope to catch one of the many stunning carp that call this massive venue home.

If you’ve never fished a reservoir before, Durleigh Reservoir is a good option. Whether you enjoy float fishing or carp fishing, this venue has a good head of fish that can keep you busy all day. The trick to any large venue like this is getting on the fish, though!

What size do the fish go to?

The average carp in this lake is now 17lbs, but most experienced anglers can land a few 20s in a season too. Many locals do claim there are much larger carp in this lake, though.

For the match anglers, there are massive shoals of good-sized roach, which could easily get an overall weight of 80lbs on their own. There is also bream to a good size and plenty of other species to fish for as well.

What tactics work well?

Durleigh Reservoir is 26ft deep. In the hotter months, when the carp are off the bottom during the day, zig rigs will be your best friend. An adjustable zig is probably the easiest option here due to the depth. There is also a no-fishing zone by the dam wall, so this could be a good spot to target if you can cast that far. The tighter corners are also really good hotspots for carp.

What facilities are on site?

Day ticket prices are very reasonable, and there are disabled pegs available as well.

Is parking available?

Yes, the car park is on the lodge bank.
