Fishery Information

Fir Tree Farm is a camp and fishing site just outside Banbury in Oxfordshire. It is located in a stunning valley, and the fishing lake is at the heart of the site. If you love a spot of camping while you fish, you have the rare opportunity to pitch up right next to the lake here. You can also bring your caravan or motorhome along for a bit more comfort while you fish.

The lake itself is about two acres in size and is very well stocked. It is usually fished with match tactics, but there are a few nice-sized carp in the lake that could be worth targeting during your visit.

What size do the fish go to?

Most of the carp here are double figures, but there could be carp to over 25lbs in this lake. There is a good stock of silverfish like roach, bream and rudd, and plenty of perch too. There are some tench in this lake as well, but how big they are isn’t known at this time.

What tactics work well?

This is the perfect lake to get your kids into fishing. It is so well-stocked with smaller fish that a hook with some corn on it is all you need for a successful day’s fishing. There is also some nice fish to be caught here, though. A method feeder or a single hook bait in the right spot could get you fighting a lovely fish!

What facilities are on site?

Fir Tree Farm is also a campsite with all the amenities common with a campsite. There is also a ‘snack shack’, and a falconry centre as well.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available near the lake.
