Fishery Information

An ancient estate lake, Frensham Great Pond is a 60-acre carp and specimen water that has a depth of 5 feet. It is home to tench to 10 lbs., Leney carp to over 20 lbs., roach and rudd to 3 lbs., perch to 3 lbs. and pike to 20 lbs..

To get there, approach from the A287 travelling south from Farnham. There is an official car park off the road which leads to the Frensham Pond Hotel. This road is the first right turn past the school on the A287. Please note that gates are locked at night and you might be required to pay a fee in the summer.

There are other areas around the pond where cars are allowed to be parked, but please take care not to cause obstruction.

Tench go up to 10 lbs., Leney carp to over 20 lbs. and roach and rudd to 3 lbs..

What tactics work well?

This beautiful fishery is a frequent early season target for tench and responds well to usual feeder tactics. However, frequent casting to get a bed of bait out is needed in order to hold the shoals.

Carp have been putting weight on over the past few years and need specialist tactics for a result.

Lure fishing for pike give interesting results for active winter anglers. Dead baits are recommended for larger specimens.
