Fishery Information

The Grand Western Canal is run by the Tiverton and District Angling Club. This means to fish on here you need a club licence which you can get through their website.

The stretch is 11.5 miles long and runs all the way from Tiverton to Burlescombe and is known for its excellent fishing where you can catch some really big tench as well as plenty of bream, rudd and roach. In the winter it’s also good for pike fishing with some going to double figures and there being plenty of jack pike.

What size do the fish go to?

  • Large tench
  • Double figure pike
  • Carp to 20lb

What tactics work well?

To catch the decent-sized roach, try liquidized bread with casters.

For the perch try big worms.

What facilities are on site?

There are no facilities.

Is parking available?

Parking is available throughout the canal.
