Fishery Information

Three lakes and more than 80 pegs are spread out across the Halesworth Lakes complex, found in the town of Halesworth in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. The greatest depth in any given lake is five feet, and generous peg spacing separates the different depth markers in each lake.

The lakes include a healthy population of carp, roach, bream, tench, and crucians, making for superb fishing that is accessible to anglers of all skill levels match fishing, recreational fishing, and general fishing.

Day tickets are available from the bailiff on the bank who checks anglers on a regular basis throughout the day. Fishing is open from 7am to dusk, with no night fishing allowed.

What size do the fish go to?

What tactics work well?

Fish are easy to catch with pellets, maggots, or sweetcorn anywhere from the margins to ten meters out. During the warmer months, surface fishing can be very productive. Both barbed hooks and keepnets are prohibited at all times, with the exception of matches for keepnets.
