Fishery Information

Leased by the Billericay and District Angling Club, Rectory Ponds is a fishing lake within the grounds of the private Little Easton estate.

The pond is maintained to a high standard and the administering club is among the most respected in the region. Fishing on the lake is by membership only.

The lake is of modest size at just 3/4 of an acre. It is managed and maintained by the owner.

While the lake could take more pegs there are only 12, as stipulated by the owners. Each peg is individually numbered.

The lake is well-stocked with carp, bream and dace up to good sizes.

The water depth is around 3ft and of good quality, and anglers are limited to a single rod.

The owner requests no fishing before 6am or after 10pm. The Club stresses that good conduct while fishing at Rectory Ponds is assured at all times as poor behavior will lead to the lease being withdrawn.

No unofficial matches are allowed, and surface fishing is not permitted. Night fishing is also off-limits and dogs are not accepted.

What size do the fish go to?

Rectory Ponds is stocked with carp up to 20lbs, bream of 1lb 8oz, and dace of 3oz.

What facilities are on site?

The sole facility is a portaloo for the use of male and female members.

Is parking available?

There are two car parks close to the pond for the use of club members.  Access is by a locked and secure gate for which visitors require a club-issued key.
