Fishery Information

Two fishing lakes are available at the Newbridge Fishing Lakes, located in Simonswood in Liverpool. The lakes open only during daylight hours are heavily stocked with a variety of fish, including Carp (both common and mirror varieties), Tench, Bream, F1’s, Barble, Ide, and Golden Orf.

The Small Lake located closest to the parking lot is primarily for recreational fishing. It is not as heavily stocked as the large lake and has only 31 pegs, but the fish that are there are much larger. On this lake, night fishing is permitted at certain pegs; however, there is a limit of six anglers fishing at any given time, and you must register to be considered.

The Big Lake, placed just to the right of the entrance, has 38 pegs and heavily stocked with a variety of fish, the majority of which are F1’s, Mirror Carp, Common Carp, and Bream. The lake also contains a sizeable population of Tench, Ide, and Barble. This lake is open for recreational fishing, but closed for matches on Wednesdays and Sundays.

What size do the fish go to?

The average size of fish is about 1.5lb and the biggest in there is above 20lb

What tactics work well?

Pole, Rod, and Float fishing with common baits such as maggots, sweetcorn, and pellets
