Fishery Information

The Lancashire countryside is the setting for Rosemary Wood Fisheries, which sit mid-way between Liverpool and Southport. The local motorway and main road networks provide easy access.

There are two lakes – 5-acre Moss Lake and the smaller Island Lake – with the former offering the most lucrative catches. The lakes occupy an attractive setting and while they used to be mainly used for matches are now geared towards carp game fishing.

Both lakes are well-stocked with a goo head of carp and regulars report frequent catches of double-figure fish. Bream, chub, tench and roach are also among the stock and all to good sizes.

With 50 pegs available on Moss Lake and 41 on island lake there is plenty of choice when it comes to choosing your pitch. Day tickets can be purchased on the bank while night fishing can be arranged at Rosemary Wood Fisheries.

What size do the fish go to?

There are considerable numbers of carp in each lake between 6lb and 12lb. the biggest carp come out of Moss Lake and are in the 19lb to 22lb region and include both mirror and common varieties. Bream, chub and tench are up to 5lb with a few roach of 2lb and more.

What tactics work well?

Pellets, corn, maggots and boilies are recommended here, with the match routine of feeding little and often returning the best results.

What facilities are on site?

The facilities on site extend to the constructed pegs only. There are shops, pubs and places to eat in nearby small towns such as Barton and Haskayne.

Is parking available?

Car parking is available at the fishery directly adjacent to the lake.
