Fishery Information

High Stand, located to the south of Carlisle, offers an idyllic backdrop for outdoor activities, which include fishing. The location lies in the middle of a forest and is known for its tranquil atmosphere. There are three ponds on the property, but fishing is only permissible in the larger two of the ponds.

Mill Pond, the larger of the two, features depths ranging from six to fifteen feet. The Mill Pond is home to a healthy population of roach, chub, and perch, in addition to the presence of tench and carp on occasion. The depths of Skelly Pond range from six to twenty feet, and it is home to a significant population of roach and perch in addition to a bigger stock of chub and tench, some of which reach specimen sizes.

There are also a few huge carp present in this body of water. From the nearby caravan park at Inglewood Hall, you may purchase day tickets for £3 open from the 31st of March through the 31st of October. Big Waters Angling Club (BWAC) is the only place that sells season tickets, and they are just for the high Stand.
