Fishery Information

Just five miles north of Worksop is the village of Langold. Langold Country Park is a beautiful 300-acre park slap bang in the village. It promises a good day’s fishing for any coarse anglers with a good stock of species like roach, tench, bream and perch.

If you enjoy a spot of float or pole fishing and fancy a relaxing day sitting on the water surround by stunning countryside, you could do a lot worse than Langold Lake. This is a day ticket water, making it perfect for a family day’s fishing, but memberships are available too.

What size do the fish go to?

The fish in this lake are not monsters. Still, there are roach up to 2.5lbs, tench to 7lbs and bream to a respectable 8lbs.

What tactics work well?

Feeder fishing on this lake works a treat if you are after the bigger fish. For hours of fun, pole or float fishing can be used to catch the smaller ones. Bring a tin of corn, a pint of maggots and some groundbait; you’ll have endless fun here. To catch the big ones, pay attention to the island and fish on the bottom.

What facilities are on site?

There is a cafe in the country park, toilets and a kiosk for quick refreshments. There is also a skate park if you’re feeling adventurous!

Is parking available?

Yes, the closest car park to the lake is the Church Street entrance.
