Set in the idyllic woodland of Alice Holt Forest, Lodge Pond offers a great fishing experience in pleasant and relaxing surroundings. This water is perfect for novice and pleasure anglers because it is considered as an easy carp water. This 3-acre pond is home to carp to 31 lbs., roach to 3 lbs., bream to 11 lbs., tench to 8 lbs. and pike to over 15 lbs.. There are also small rudd and gudgeon present in this water.

To get there, follow these directions. From the roundabout at the western end of the Farnham by-pass, follow the A325 south west (sign posted Bordon). After 1.5 miles, you will pass Birdworld and a garden centre on your right. Continue and turn left at the cross-road towards Dockenfield. On Dockenfield Street, after 200 metres, turn left into Alice Holt forest. When the forest is closed to the public, access is via a key pad and the code can be found in your handbook.

What tactics work well?

Bottom tactics for carp are the norm with the chod rig being very popular and offering excellent presentation in the deep silt, with groundbait sticks or pellet bags coming a close second.

Bream respond well to either the feeder or the waggler and can give hectic sport on the pole.

Winter fishing for the pike can be good with plenty of jacks and occasional doubles with the odd larger fish coming to suspended dead baits.
