Fishery Information

Magiscroft is an angling complex located in Cumbernauld. It consists of seven water bodies and over 150 pegs, stocked with a wide range of coarse fish species. Coarse anglers developed Magiscroft specifically for coarse anglers. Every one of them has its unique qualities. Carp, Tench, Bream, Ide, Chub, Roach, Barbel, Rudd, Pike, Perch, and Gudgeon are some species in these waters. Anglers can only fish for pike during specifically designated winter months.

The Main Loch is the largest of the waters, and it features 51 comfortable pegs in addition to excellent fishing opportunities for larger fish. Depth is shallow at the shore, gradually increasing to between 6 and 15 feet and falling to between 15 and 18 feet in the middle.

The Island Pond features thirty pegs generously stocked with a variety of Carp weighing up to ten pounds. The depths are very consistent from peg to peg, shallowing gradually from up to 5 feet at the end closest to the parking lot to 3 feet at the end furthest away.

The Top Pond is the easiest to access and features a handy route and pegs all around. It can host twenty anglers. The depths are consistent from peg to peg, gradually decreasing in magnitude from up to 5 feet at the west end to 3 feet at the east end.

Next to the Island Pond, in a more secluded part of the fishery, you will find the Woodside Pond, which has 23 pegs hidden away in the trees.

The Birch Ponds are two smaller ponds hidden away in the Birch trees on the northern side of the fishery. These ponds, like the others, are stocked with Carp and various other fish species. The largest one has 12 pegs, five of which are doubles, making it perfect for two anglers fishing together. There are five double pegs in the smaller pond.

The Railway Pond is secluded water in a peaceful corner of the site with ten pegs and gives some excellent fishing for Carp and a variety of species but is best known for big Tench.

Pegs around the Island are shallower from 3ft to 4ft, and there is a deeper area in the middle of the pond that goes up to 8ft.
