Fishery Information

North Benfleet Hall is a well-appointed five acre lake that is a favourite spot of families and experienced match and specimen anglers alike. This mixed fishery is settled in seven and a half acres of Essex countryside, just five miles from Basildon and two miles from Benfleet itself.

Open 12 months a year with tickets available seven days a week for day and night fishing, this is an ideal location for anglers of all skill and interest levels. Hours differ by season, with the lake opening at 6:30 am in the winter and closing at 5 pm. North Benfleet Hall opens at 6:30 am in the summer and is available until 8 pm. Evening tickets are available in the summer from 4-8 pm.

Night fishing is only permitted for those over the age of 25. Only those with named tickets can fish overnight. Tickets must be booked 24 hours in advance.

What size do the fish go to?

Common carp, mirror carp, ghost carp, ide, tench, bream, roach, and rudd are available in North Benfleet Hall.

The average size of fish is about a dozen pounds, but fish ranging up to 30 pounds have been reported.

What tactics work well?

All anglers are expected to follow the 2019 rules of North Benfleet Hall.

Nets must be dipped in provided dip tanks prior to fishing, with suitable landing nets required. Floating baits are not permitted and only barbless hooks are allowed. Fish may not be held in carp sacks. Leaders and feeders should be free running. Lead core leaders are not allowed at North Benfleet Hall.

What facilities are on site?

There is a catering van onsite on weekends. Two toilets are on the property.
