Fishery Information

Located in Wythershawe, Greater Manchester, Painswick Park offers excellent fishing to the keen Carp angler. The lake is set within the park grounds and offers an ideal spot for the relaxing getaway. Furthermore, the water boasts a variety of fishing features such as Islands, reeds and overhanging trees.

Additionally, there are around 36 pegs, with several offering access to the disabled angler. The most popular spots tend to be between pegs 13 and 18.

The water is deep and possesses a healthy stock of Bream, Tench, Carp, Perch and Roach. Both syndicate members and day ticket anglers are welcome, with tickets starting from £2.50. Also, juniors are allowed to fish the waters, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

What size do the fish go to?

Perch, Roach and Tench generally way between 2 and 6lbs. Carp commonly come in at double figures, with the larger specimen exceeding 15lbs.

What tactics work well?

Popular still water tactics are effective. Furthermore, utilising pellets and boilies during the summer is useful. Prawns, maggots and worms all present popular choices of bait.
