Fishery Information

Pockerridge Lakes is owned and operated by Chippenham Angling Club. You must be a member of the club to fish these waters. There are 35 pegs in total on the lakes, and both of the lakes have some wonderful fish to catch. Both lakes have roach, tench, rudd, perch and carp, all to nice weights. Although there are carp in the lakes, these aren’t carp lakes. Instead, most of the anglers that fish these waters employ match-style tactics and achieve excellent results.

What size do the fish go to?

We know there are perch to 4lbs in these lakes. There is also tench to nice weights and carp that can reach about 20lbs.

What tactics work well?

There are islands on both lakes, and these are certainly good areas of the lake to target for the larger carp, tench and perch. There are also overhangs that the larger fish will use for cover. Natural baits work very well on this lake; maggots, corn, casters and even meat seem to be popular choices for local anglers. The pole is a good method to use on this lake, and you can catch a good weight of fish by fishing close to the margins. Float fishing is also a good tactic. For the larger fish, a method feeder is a good option, but so are single hookbaits on a ledger-type rig.

What facilities are on site?

There are currently no facilities on site.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available close to the lower lake.
