Fishery Information

Dodford Lake is a four-acre lake in Chippenham. It is a wonderful lake, surrounded by the beautiful rural English countryside. While the setting is peaceful, the fishing is anything but. For match anglers or pleasure anglers, this lake promises a fantastic day’s fishing. It is full of awesome fish, and there are 44 pegs, so plenty of space for everyone.

What size do the fish go to?

The carp in this lake only go up to about 15lbs. However, this makes it the perfect match fishing venue for those wanting to perfect their skills. Whether you love fishing on the pole or using a float rod, you can catch a lovely mixed bag here. There is plenty of roach, rudd, bream and tench to catch too.

What tactics work well?

Tactics for this venue are nice and varied. Many anglers love to fish the pole here and do so with a lot of success. Staying close to the margins and baiting up consistently will give you a great chance at catching the fish. You could also float fish with corn or maggots and have a fantastic day. If you fancy netting some larger carp, tench, bream or roach, try using a method in the centre of the lake. You’ll wait a bit longer for a bite, but it will be well worth it. Pellets on the method work fine, but groundbait is also a must-have bait here.

What facilities are on site?

Yes, there are toilets on site.

Is parking available?

Parking is available close to the lake.
