The Portna Canal stretch is readily accessible and is a popular pike fishery. Pike, perch, roach, bream and eels are abundant. Fishing is restricted to the stretch below the locks.

What size do the fish go to?

The size limit for pike is 4kg and over, and coarse fish longer than 25cm must be returned to the water.
