Fishery Information

The coarse fishing ponds at Ravenfield Ponds are a part of Ravenfield Park, located close to the village of Old Ravenfield and not far from Rotherham in South Yorkshire.

Six angling ponds and two stock ponds are available, with the latter used to raise crucian carp, rudd, and tench for the angling ponds’ resident fish population. The ponds in the countryside, in a lovely and secluded valley abundant in flora and fauna, are away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Tench, crucian carp, bream, ide, roach, rudd, perch, gudgeon, eels, and common and mirror carp are the fish stocked in the fishery. In addition to the range of primarily silver fish

found in three of the lakes, there is also a lake dedicated to specimen carp. It has a limited number of night fishing permits available. A further pond contains only tench, crucian carp, and rudd, while a sixth pond has a high stock density and contains many small carp in addition to silver fish.

Competitions are open only to club members and occur nearly every week during the summer and winter at the club’s ponds and other local fishing spots. The club’s match program is among the most extensive in the region, and the location is open to bookings for matches by clubs from outside.
