Fishery Information

Roan Fishery is in Norton, just outside Doncaster. It is a purpose-built, modern fishery of 2.5 acres set into 5 acres of Doncaster’s finest countryside. The lake has 43 pegs, so there is plenty of room for anglers to fish to the open areas of the lake.

What size do the fish go to?

This is a commercial-style fishery that is designed with match angling in mind. When fished well, you can bag 180lbs in one session. That is the lake record right now. There are thousands of fish in this lake, including carp, f1s, crucians, roach, rudd and more. There are a few double-figure carp, but most are under 10lbs, still worth catching to fill your bag, though.

What tactics work well?

Pellets are the best bait to use on this venue. The carp love them, and the f1s can’t get enough of them. If you’re going for a heavy weight of fish, method feeding and the pole are the best choices. Start in the middle of the lake, but bait a margin swim for the afternoon.

What facilities are on site?

The pegs are well built, and some of them offer disabled access. Give Roan Fishery a call before arriving to ensure a disabled peg is available before you go. There is also an on-site cafe with some lovely hot and cold food available, plus coffee and tea too. A toilet block and a good tackle shop are also available.

Is parking available?

Parking is available a short walk from the pegs.
