Fishery Information

Rougham Carp Fishery is just 5 miles out of the beautiful historic town of Bury St Edmunds. As the carpy name would suggest, this is a stunning carp venue, and it is operated on a season ticket basis. The fishery has a limited number of spots each year to keep traffic on the lake down and to ensure the carp can grow steadily. Thanks to clever fishery management, this lake is already growing into Suffolk’s leading carp lake and will continue this growth over the following years.

What size do the fish go to?

At the moment, the carp in this lake are up to 30lbs. However, there is a very good head of 20lb carp in this lake which is growing more and more by the day. Granted, the carp may not be massive by today’s standards, but there is a very good chance of catching a mid 20 here. So this lake is perfect for those carp anglers searching for an easy PB. There are over 200 carp in this lake, many of which are reaching or have reached the 20lb mark.

What tactics work well?

Because this is a carp lake and anglers have fished with carp tactics since the beginning, these are the tactics to employ here. However, using a goo or a liquid is a must to separate yourself from everyone else. A strong-smelling goo is a solid choice on your single hookbaits, but PVA bags with plenty of liquid inside is also a good idea. Pellets are a great choice either in PVA bags or your spod mix as well.

What facilities are on site?
