Fishery Information

Set up in 1981, Rowes Flashe Lake is an attractive 5-acre lake that lies within the grounds of Winkworth Arboretum. It provides excellent trout fishing at a reduced rate and is regularly stocked with triploid brown and rainbow trout weighing up to 7 lbs..

There is 1 swim available and fishing is allowed from boat only. 1 to 2 people are allowed in boat.

This is a members only site, but guest tickets are available. After the first calendar month of a season, members may take a guest on to the water but not more than twice in seven days.

To get there, follow these directions. In the grounds of Winkworth Arboretum, head out of Godalming towards Hascombe (Brighton Rd). Winkworth is on the left, approximately 1.5 miles after Busbridge.

What size do the fish go to?

Triploid brown and rainbow trout go up to 7 lbs..

What tactics work well?

We couldn’t find any information about the tactics that work well for fishing on site.

What facilities are on site?

Toilet facilities are available only by the main entrance in Hascombe Road.

The lower car park is open to all members through a locked farm gate. The keys to this gate and to the boathouse and locked boats will be provided on becoming a member.

Other facilities include boat and boat house, toilets, and National Trust Cafe (by upper car park) during peak Arboretum opening hours.
