Set in the picturesque North Yorkshire countryside around Selby, Scalm Park offers a complete all-in-one package holiday with caravan site, golf course, fishing and other activities. There are 3 ponds on site that are well-stocked with carp, bream, tench, rudd and chub. Fishing is allowed from dawn until dusk.

Scalm Park is perfect for both beginner and seasoned anglers. It hosts several fishing competitions each year.

The lakes have a total of 80 pegs and plenty of features to fish to.

Horseshoe Pond is a mixed coarse fishing lake that is regularly used for competitions. It is home to common carp, crucian carp, mirror carp, tench, rudd and bream.

Little Wood Lake is a well-established v-shaped pond that has depths between 4 and 8 feet. This water is home to carp, tench, rudd and bream. It has plenty of reeds and marginal features to target.

Located down one side of the golf course, the Carp Lake is the venue’s most established pond. It is home to plenty of big carp up to mid double figures. In addition to mirror, ghost, crucian and common carp, this water also holds a large number of rudd.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp go to 20 lbs.

What tactics work well?

Meat is a popular bait for fishing on the Carp Lake.
