Spring Heath Log Cabins & Fishery is a beautiful 10-acre holiday park situated on the outskirts of the traditional English village of Knockin, Shropshire. Set in an idyllic natural waterside location, this venue is perfect for fishing, rambling, cycling, photography and relaxation. This hidden gem is just 3 miles off the A5 in North Shropshire, within easy access of the M54, the North West of England and Wales. Knockin is 1 hour from Birmingham and Manchester and 3.5 hours from London.
Established for 13 years, this park boasts a lot of mature trees as well as wildlife islands. It also houses 2 fishing pools, each are approximately 2 acres in size. Both pools attract rare wildlife that will surely make your stay even more memorable and special.
With depth of between 3 and 6 feet, Eccleston Fishing Pool is a relatively shallow water with four small islands. It is ideal for beginner and intermediate anglers. It also has a number of platforms that are perfect for disabled anglers as well as those who just wanted a dry platform to fish from. Day, evening and parent and child day tickets are available for this pool. Keep nets are not allowed here and landing nets are required. They also prefer if anglers use an unhooking mat.
Blurton Fishing Pool is perfect for dedicated carp anglers with moderate skills because it is a more challenging pool to fish on. Pole fishing or light feeder fishing are not allowed here. Blurton holds larger carp than Eccleston and is home to a handful of specimen perch that weigh up to 5 lbs.. A minimum of 15 lb line is required as well as a large unhooking mat and a landing net that is at least 36 inches in size. Anglers under 16 years of age are not allowed to fish here. Day and evening tickets are available for this pool.
What size do the fish go to?
Eccleston pool is home to carp that weigh up to 15 lbs., crucian carp to 3 lbs., tench to 9 lbs., bream skimmers to 4 lbs., roach to 2 lbs., rudd to 2lbs., golden orfe to 3.5 lbs. and perch to 4lbs..
Blurton pool produces common carp that weigh up to 30 lbs., mirror carps to 30 lbs., tench to 9 lbs. and perch to 5 lbs..
