Tactics

For successful fishing at Sykehouse Fisheries, it is recommended to feed a long line shallow as far as possible (13/14.5m) with pellet or live maggot, and to feed constantly (5 pints). A short line at 5/6m with 6mm pellet or meat fed from the off all day with 3/4 pieces or pellets regularly. Keep having a look every 20 mins on the 5/6m line and then two edge lines for the last hour or so. Micros one side, gbait the other. Fish single/double worm or corn over the top. It is advised to put a couple of cups of lightly squeezed groundbait and dead reds in on the long line and fish for skimmers on the deck while feeding the shallow line and short line. The key is to start long and aim to come short.

Note: It is important to respect the fishery rules for the well-being of the fish and the maintenance of the fishery.
