Fishery Information

The Chase fisheries are comprised of two medium-sized lakes that are designed with coarse fishing in mind. The first lake has a surface of 9 acres and comes with mainly pike and carp. The second lake, of 7 acres, has available species such as crucian, carp, tench, and roach – all of average size.

Bardag Club has ensured continuous stocking. Mid to high 20s have been introduced, as well as upper-doubles and more than 100 English stockies.

Both lakes have extensive features – deeps, islands, lily beds, secluded bays, and so on. The size of the swims is also large, being able to fit modern and intricate fishing equipment. Waggler and pole lines are also available, mainly for those keen on catching rudd, roach, perch, skimmer bream, and gudgeon during warm months.

Some of the most notable catches/species would be Ghosties and double-figure Koi fish, as well as reportedly very large Tench and Bream schools.

What size do the fish go to?

Cats weigh around 50 to 50lbs.

Carp over 10lbs.

Pike over 15lbs.

Bream to 12lbs.

Tench to 6lbs and crucians to 3.5lbs.

English stockies weigh from 5 to 8lbs.

What tactics work well?

Anglers can have up to two rods (£6 one rod, £10 for two).

Float fishing for the 7-acre lake.

Live/dead bait fishing, spinning, and the usual carp-catching tactics (bread, boilies, sweetcorn) for the 9-acre lake.

Overall, due to the fish variety, all methods are viable – given the proper day and weather, of course.

What facilities are on site?

No facilities reported on site.

Is parking available?

No parking reported within/around the fishery.
