Fishery Information

Set in stunningly beautiful environs in the heart of Snowdonia between the holiday resorts of Porthmadog and Dollgellau, Llyn Trawsfynydd is a must-visit destination.

An estimated 5 miles of shoreline adorns the lake’s 1,200 acres of water surface. The Prysor Angling Lake Management Committee is in charge of maintaining and managing the lake.

Llyn Trawsfynydd is well known for its excellent top-of-the-water fishing as well as for producing high quality, hard-fighting fish. Brown trout weigh an average of about 1 pound, though there are past incidents of anglers catching Browns in excess of 7 pounds.

Regular stockings of rainbow trout are made throughout the season.  Currently, there is a large school of perch in the lake, as well as small rudd and a couple of large pike.
